Meet the Coaches that make it all happen.
Kyle Thomason (Head Coach)
Kyle joined the world of college mock in 2004 as part of his efforts to build a class schedule with a four-day weekend and no classes before noon. He became hopelessly addicted and coached Duke's team through his law school years and beyond (from 2007-2012) and joined AMTA's Board of Directors in 2013. After a lengthy break from coaching, Kyle couldn't resist the chance to join FLCMT in 2024. When he's not coaching mock trial, Kyle's also an Assistant General Counsel at a Fortune 100 company here in NYC.
Nina Kellner (Assistant Coach)
Nina is a legal administrative assistant at a consumer advocacy firm in New York City. She competed for Rhodes College and graduated in 2025 with a B.A. in Political Science. Prior to coaching at Fordham LC, Nina has coached high schoolers on Long Island and was an advisor for three years at a pre-law program held at Stanford University. She has coached at Fordham LC since the 2025-2026 season.
Anna Mizzi
(Assistant Coach)
Anna is an Associate at WilmerHale, where her practice focuses primarily on trial litigation for both commercial and pro-bono clients. Anna competed on mock trial teams throughout law school at The George Washington University Law School, and undergrad at The American University. She has coached at Fordham LC since the 2021-2022 season.
Ava Vecellio
(Assistant Coach)
Ava Vecellio works at Akin Gump as a law clerk in the financial restructuring practice group. She was involved in mock trial in both law school and undergraduate at New York University. In her free time, she enjoys reading, board games, and watching Formula 1.
Amelia Yeomelakis (Assistant Coach)
Amelia is an Associate Court Attorney for the Unified Court System in New York City. She works for an appointed Kings County Criminal Court Judge drafting the Court’s decisions and researching suppression and trial related issues. Prior to becoming an Associate Court Attorney, she was a public defender. Amelia competed for Rhodes College from 2011 until 2015 and coached at Rhodes from 2015 to 2017. In 2025, she returned to coaching, here at FLCMT! She began volunteering with AMTA in 2019 and became a member of the Board in 2025.
